Nine ways BarNone is better than a Broomstick (or any other similar bar/device), for securing an OPEN window.

Sockets are secured to the frame with 3M Command Strips. They are not easily pried, especially with a bar attached. If screws are still preferred, there’s a hole in the plate for that.

Sockets attach to both the Frame and the Sash. For additional child-proofing, Sockets can be mounted higher. As long as they're level.

Push-button at the bottom allows telescoping tubes to slide, with holes every 3/4 inch. Slamming the sash will not compress tubes or break Keys.

Once in place, BarNone can not be easily removed:
From the outside by a thieve; From the inside by a child.
The safety release lever is out-of-reach when reaching inside. The window can slide open but is restricted to 4 inches by the bar.

Step one: In the event of an emergency, lift the Release lever. It's purpose is to prevent the bar from turning.

Step two: Twist the bar 45 degrees, so that the Knobs line up with the Sockets. The Knobs have oblong necks which can only slip by the Jaws at this angle.

Step three: Only then can BarNone lift out of the window. Removal from the inside is still quick and easy.

BarNone is available in three models/ranges to cover most window widths: Standard, Full-size and Patio.

Yes BarNone secures Patio doors as well, against both intruders and adventurous children. It can be mounted out-of-reach anywhere along the frame.
